Dementia
Imagine someone standing in your way, trying to prevent your getting on with your day. This, we believe, is how it must seem to some with Dementia — who genuinely needs to get to somewhere, with someone repeatedly asking them to sit down.
With residents who have Dementia, physical mobility itself may be causing problems. They become fixated with the need to get somewhere or to see someone, and no amount of persuasion will deter them from the task.
Often, this is a trick of the memory, taking them back to a time when their children where young, or they they had to go to work.
Sunningdale has secure grounds allowing us to have an open door policy, this often prevents the resident from becoming agitated, as in other homes where the means of access to outside is often locked.
We will offer and give free impartial advice irrespective of you choosing a Crabtree Care Home. We know how difficult it is to choose a Care Home. Hopefully you only have to do this once and it is generally the only time you will become enmeshed in the world of fees and allowances. We do this for a living, let us help where we can.

Our care homes have been awarded the Government's Investor in People award, which shows our commitment to residents and staff.
