The Raikes, Silsden (between Ilkley & Keighley)
The Raikes' five star accommodation has been designed to provide comfort, variety and choice. Set in semi-rural surroundings, The Raikes is only 10 minutes from Ilkley and Keighley.
Residents can chat with other residents, relatives and friends, sit or wander in the garden, watch television, and enjoy the privacy of their own rooms. Local choirs and musical societies are regularly encouraged to come and entertain residents. The local clergy regularly give communion and conduct prayer.
Telephone facilities are available and newspapers can be ordered. A hairdresser attends every two weeks, and a Chiropodist every six weeks (fees paid by residents on an individual basis).
We have friendly staff who understand the need for (and respect) the residents' independence and privacy. At the same time, individual care and assistance is always available. The home has a full complement of staff during the day, and experienced staff are always on duty throughout the night.
Medical cover is provided by local GPs, along with District Nurses and a Community Psychiatric team. We are not a nursing home; in the event of serious illness, admission to hospital is normal policy.
There is no set bed time or rising time. Residents may retire to bed when they are ready to do so.
We are an equal-opportunities carer and employer. We offer all residents (irrespective of physical, psychological and cultural needs) the fullest care possible, to maintain a reasonable quality of life, whilst encouraging self-help to maintain self-care.
Our overwhelming aim and objective is to provide "A Home" where the residents' physical, mental and spiritual needs are met to the highest degree.

Our care homes have been awarded the Government's Investor in People award, which shows our commitment to residents and staff.
